Chantel is a member of BABICM (British Association of Brain Injury Case Managers)
Chantel has over 15 years’ experience of caring for patients both in hospital, in their own homes.
With experience of a clinical lead and previously registered manager with the CQC, she was responsible for patients being cared for in their own homes aided by a team of Registered Nurses and Healthcare support workers, which included both adults and children. She was responsible for the overall care and appropriate referral to agencies and would then act as co-ordinator and facilitator as required, but remained accountable for professional nursing care provided.
In addition, Chantel has experience of caring for acutely ill, chronically ill and terminally ill, including palliative care patients within nursing hospital and home settings.
Chantel has specialist interests in complex clinical care to include brain and spinal injury and all community nursing issues. She also has experience of working within an intensive care unit, stabilising patients with severe injuries prior to them being transferred to longer term rehabilitation units with the aim of them returning to live within their own homes with family members or supported by a specially recruited care team.
Chantel acts as Nursing Consultant and adviser to domiciliary care agencies and case managers, for whom she delivers all aspects of clinical support. She develops policies and guidelines for care and management of patients both adult and children with a wide range of disabilities to include complex care clients.
Chantel also provides clinical training to complex care agencies, case management companies and via local commissioners for clients with personal health budgets.
